Water safety and availability

The Climate Adaptation Strategy Zeeland shows a high level of ambition. It aims at being climate-proof and water-robust by 2050, covering infrastructure, robust nature that can cope with climate extremes, and sustainable agriculture.

We investigate how water, the coast and land use can help us to counter climate change, and how to adapt and become more resilient to the expected consequences of climate change. This involves research into a new approach for climate-proof coastal defense and landscape design, mainly using nature-based solutions, and taking an integrated view on ecosystem services of the entire delta.
