My research project focuses on the ecophysiology of shellfish (particularly mussels) and their adaptation and resilience in a changing environment driven by climate change. The effects of stressors such as high turbidity, rising temperatures, freshwater influxes, and algal blooms are evaluated. These findings will support predictions of future climate related scenarios.
As part of the icon project Delta Protein, I aim to contribute to the sustainability and resilience of mussel production in the Dutch Southwest Delta.
