Everyone involved with the complex national water challenges posed by climate change and rising sea levels is invited to the conference ‘Water as Connection’ on Thursday, June 20th.
The event will take place at HZ University of Applied Sciences and the Joint Research Center Zeeland at Het Groene Woud in Middelburg. At the end of the conference, Willem den Ouden will step down as director of Delta Platform.
The conference specifically targets stakeholders and users dealing with water issues. The aim of the day is to foster collaboration, focusing on the common good while respecting individual interests.
The program begins at 1:00 PM with several plenary speakers: Benjamin van Bunderen Robberechts on Climate Justice for Rosa, former director of KNMI and chairman of the board of the Delta Climate Center Gerard van Steenhoven on climate change and its impact on weather, and Alex Hekman on changes during times of sea level rise.
Starting at 2:00 PM, there will be multiple workshops, such as collaborating with the Delta Climate Center, the Delta Wealth research project, nature-based solutions, and future-proof water management. Visitors can also explore water-related themes through theater and art exhibitions.
Following the final speaker, Ro&Ad Architects, Willem den Ouden will bid farewell as director of Delta Platform. You can find the full program and registration details here.
